Hi! Thank you for visiting my page! My name is Melanie Newsom-Lee and I am a natural light and studio photographer of nine years. I’m originally from Paris. When I met and married my wonderful husband Steaven, I moved to Detroit. I love small town life, the football games, knowing everyone you see in town and knowing if you have a flat a neighbor will be by soon to help you out! I also love the idea of my studio being in a small town. I think once you leave the big city limits a certain weight is lifted and you feel like you can be yourself. That’s what I love to see in my sessions. I strive to capture the true personality behind the smile. For this reason, I also love to shoot in your home where you are the most at ease. If you’d rather we can also meet at another agreed upon location, such as a park or downtown.

I am also a mother. I am mommy to Olivia (3) and stepmom to Amanda (22) and Landan (18).  God has blessed me with a beautiful and loving family. My interest in photography started when I was young, but I never thought it was a “grown up job.”  I am thankful everyday now to be able to do what I love for a living.
